A historically inspired replica of a shawl—more accurately described as a cape or small cloak — was discovered in Bredmose, Denmark, and dates back to the Early Iron Age. This wool shawl, woven in a 2/2 twill with a simple, elegant checkered pattern, is an ideal accessory for historical reenactment and period events.

Although it draws inspiration from an Iron Age find, similar motifs were used across various historical eras, making this piece versatile for Celtic or early Germanic attire, the Migration Period, Viking-themed impressions, and Early Medieval costumes.

Recreated using an ancient loom, this handwoven cloak is crafted from 100% fine wool yarn and carefully designed to resemble archaeological artifacts as closely as possible. The fabric is made from pure wool in a subtle two-tone color scheme, perfect for historical costumes, reenactments, or living history projects.

Entirely handmade and handwoven, this cloak makes an excellent gift for various occasions. I also offer gift wrapping—just mention it in the order notes!
