Herringbone and Diamond Twill, known from the Bronze Age, is an ancient type of weave known to Celtic tribes and after, during the Roman Iron Age, through late Antiquity to Viking Age and Medieval times.

A simple two-tone can be used for a historical cape worn with costume, or as a cloak for reenactment and living history projects and carefully reproduced this fabric on a handloom to make it as close to archaeological specimens.
