On boards, tablet weaving (also known as card weaving) is one of the oldest techniques. Primarily associated with the technique of creating fabric edges on vertical looms, in antiquity and the Middle Ages, it became an important decorative technique used to adorn clothing and interior fabrics, as well as to create individual accessories, such as belts and headbands.
