Elisenbof Hedeby Belt (also known as the Hedeby Viking belt) — a faithful reproduction inspired by archaeological finds from the Viking Age settlement of Hedeby (Haithabu). This belt draws its design from archaeological discoveries at Hedeby, a vital Viking trading hub located near present-day Schleswig in northern Germany. Active between the 8th and 11th centuries, Hedeby was a cultural and commercial crossroads.
Length and variations:
Woolen belts:
Red-Beige 2m long belt + 24cm 6 tassels, 100% wool.
Sold:
Blue-Ocre 2m long belt + 24cm 6 tassels, 100% wool.
On boards, tablet weaving (also known as card weaving) is one of the oldest techniques. Primarily associated with the technique of creating fabric edges on vertical looms, in antiquity and the Middle Ages, it became an important decorative technique used to adorn clothing and interior fabrics, as well as to create individual accessories, such as belts and headbands.
I offer a Bi-color tablet-woven belt.
