This tunic is a replica of one of two tunics found in Guddal, Norway, dated to the late 11th century. Found in 1970 near the old church in the very humid area of Guddal Valley in Norway, this finding perfectly shows a different and important element of the Scandinavian fashion of the final stage of the Viking Age and transition into the Medieval period. We should also mention that there are three different garments found there: a striped tunic, a second tunic with a vertical collar, and a striped cloak or blanket.

This is a very practical garment. The high collar protects the throat from wind and cold, side slits make the tunic comfortable when walking.

Our replica is made from homespun wool, frayed in a decoction of walnut leaves and is completely hand-stitched, repeating the cut and silhouette of the original find.
