Medieval hose based on the findings in Bocksten, Sweden

Bockstensmannen or Bocksten man is a bog body found in Sweden in 1936.
Man was found with a full set of clothing dated to mid-late 14th century.

The outfit is made from coarse wool and consists of a hood with a long tail, a semi-circular cloak (also known as mantel) with a round neckline,  hoses (or long socks), with leather straps to fix them to the belt. Also he had a tunic with several gores that was used as a base layer in the Middle Ages. A strong leather belt, in which the Bocksten Man carried two knives and a smaller leather object, was worn on top of the tunic. He had leather boots, and foot wraps made of recycled garments that were wound around each foot and moulded to take the form of slippers.

We purpose our version of Bocksten hoses made of different wool. As the original found has only partially preserved “socks” we propose hose in two options:
- medieval hose finished with socks
- medieval hose finished with loops
