Bocksten tunic
Bockstensmannen or Bocksten man is a bog body found in Sweden in 1936.
The man was found with a full set of clothing dated to the mid-late 14th century.
The outfit is made from coarse wool and consists of a hood with a long tail, a semicircular cloak (also known as mantel) with a round neckline, hoses (or long socks), with leather straps to fix them to the belt. Also, he had a tunic with several gores that were used as a base layer in the Middle Ages. A strong leather belt, in which the Bocksten Man carried two knives and a smaller leather object, was worn on top of the tunic. He had leather boots, and foot wraps made of recycled garments that were wound around each foot and molded to take the form of slippers.
We offer our reproduction of the Bockten tunic recreated with different woolen fabrics we have in stock.
